Excerpt from The Unicorn
A tornado of sand swirled fiercely around the Great Sphinx, battering its form and eroding its size. Distorted images of the mythical creature stirred within the chaos–its head of a human and body of a lion whirled and twisted, until it had become something and someone altogether different:
The crowned and bearded Pharaoh Hatshepsut, finally able to speak again.
Look at me once, and you will see–
The Great Sphinx guarding secrets beneath my feet.
Look at me twice, and you will see–
A bearded pharoah–
A builder of great empires and architectural majesties.
Look at me with your heart, and you will see–
The divine within you and within me.
The Creator of All resides in the tombs,
Beneath the Great Sphinx, in the Chamber of Wombs.
Sail with me through the river of death–
A realm I have ruled since my brother Set
Killed me, and unknowingly, made me more powerful than ever,
As Osiris and Hatshepsut, God and Goddess together.
