The Unicorn (Excerpt)
Mighty General
I'm sorry but must ask—
Are you from the light?
Why do you wear a mask?
For Ollantaytambo is at rest with his love,
And I do not see Cusi anywhere above.
You sit upon the Emperor’s throne,
And upon your face the sun has shone—
Melting away your flesh and bone.
All that’s left of you are specks of gold—
The pieces of truth you never told.
Your acts have proven to be clever,
On the throne you’ll remain forever;
Ingrained in the granite where you can rule,
As the most clever Trickster amongst all fools.
